Sweet classic: Waffles with Hot Cherries.

Ingredients:

  • 500g SanLucar cherries
  • 200 g of margarine
  • 75 g of sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 250 ml of cream
  • 1 tablespoon of corn starch
  • 250 ml of water
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 6 eggs
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation:

Cherry sauce

  1. Stir in the cherries and sauté with 250 ml of water.
  2. Stir in the corn starch in cold water and add to the cherries.
  3. Simmer until the sauce thickens. If necessary, lightly sugar.

Waffles

  1. Stir margarine, 75 g sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, eggs till creamy.
  2. Mix the flour with baking powder and 250 ml of cream, add to the batter.
  3. Oil the waffle iron and add the batter in portions.
  4. Bake the waffles till golden brown and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with the cherry sauce. Bon Appetit!
