
Apple Tart
Do you feel the same? After an afternoon walk in the fresh air, there’s nothing more delightful than a cup of coffee and… our fruity apple tart! So French, so delicious!
Ingredients:
For the crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1–2 tablespoons cold water
For the filling:
- 2 SanLucar apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon SanLucar lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Preparation:
Crust:
1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
2. In a bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
3. Add cold butter and blend into coarse crumbs.
4. Gradually add cold water until dough comes together.
5. Press dough into small tart pans, prick bottoms with a fork, and bake for 15 minutes. Let cool.
Filling:
6. In a bowl, combine apple slices, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
7. In a saucepan, whisk apple juice and cornstarch. Heat over medium heat until thickened.
8. Add apple mixture and stir well. Let cool.
Assembling the tarts:
9. Spoon the apple filling into the cooled tart crusts.
10. Spread evenly and let set for at least one hour before serving.
