
Cheese-Date Truffles
What a match! Create delicious truffles from our creamy-sweet caramel dates and mildly spicy Gouda – perfect as a snack or appetizer. And they’re so simple to make!
Ingredients:
- 400 g medium-aged Gouda cheese, grated and at room temperature
- 250 g SanLucar caramel dates, pitted
- Desiccated coconut or cocoa powder for rolling
Preparation:
- Finely chop the dates using a knife or a food processor.
- Mix the chopped dates with the grated Gouda and knead until a smooth, sticky mixture forms.
- Shape into small bite-sized balls.
- Roll the truffles in coconut or cocoa powder, depending on your taste.
- Chill for at least 12 hours in the refrigerator to enhance flavor and texture.
- Optional visual serving idea: Place the truffle on a toasted slice of bread, topped with thin avocado slices and halved cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil and a pinch of sea salt.
