Feeling wanderlust but can’t get away? Then dream yourself away to the tropics with our sugary-sweet and super juicy mango. We do the same thing. Because when we let our exotic mangos melt in our mouths, we immediately conjure images of white beaches, turquoise blue water and lush palm trees in our mind’s eye.
Our mangos develop their intense tropical aroma in northern Peru. There, they grow and thrive at constantly warm temperatures of 25 to 28 degrees Celsius – for 20 weeks. After that, they ripen under absolutely natural tropical conditions. This keeps them fresh longer and, with a Brix value of 13°, they taste heavenly sweet. The water our fiber-free delicious treasures take in is soft rainwater from the Andes.
We collect it in catch basins and pipe it directly to the trees. This method allows it to seep down to the roots without evaporating and we save a whole lot of water. Growing in harmony with people and nature is always important to us. For example, we utilize natural predators to fight pests or we use biological methods. In order for our mangos to progress splendidly and develop color beautifully, the trees must be pruned regularly and professionally.
All wonderful reasons to snack on lots and lots of tropical mangos. You can eat them all by themselves, of course, but there are also many delicious mango dishes, such as mango curry, mango chutney, mango ice cream, mango smoothies, arugula salad with mango and mango wraps. Go ahead, indulge in them all!
