The premium fruit and vegetable brand and the foundation of the German football team have jointly inaugurated a new sports ground and new training programs for South African students and athletes. Two sport legends were present: Cacau and David Kannemeyer.<\/p>\n

SanLucar, the premium brand for fruit and vegetable, and the VfB \u2018Brustring der Herzen\u2019 foundation are further expanding their cooperation for social initiatives. Together, they have financed and implemented a new school project near the SanLucar farms in South Africa.
\nThe new DREAMS project, a new sports field, was ceremoniously opened with a major event on the grounds of the secondary school in Saron, South Africa. Former national team players und VfB-Legends Cacau (Germany) and David Kannemeyer (South Africa), as well as a SanLucar delegation consisting of Armin Rehberg, CEO, Dominik Wehner, Commercial Director and Jennifer Heer, Corporate Communication Director, were also present and played football and netball (a type of basketball) together with the children. The games were accompanied by African and international music, and attendees could also taste delicious South African cuisine.
\n\u201eWe are excited about this fantastic and great project together with VfB, the VfB foundation and the local community. It is impressive to see the enthusiasm and commitment that children and young people have shown in embracing the project. This is just the beginning of a new chapter in our DREAMS social responsibility program. At SanLucar we want to do things in a way we can be proud of. Life skills through sports<\/p>\n

The DREAMS initiative offers children from socially disadvantaged families the opportunity to play football and netball in a safe environment under the guidance of qualified coaches and learn important life skills at the same time. Both the sporting and personal development of the participants are encouraged to give them new perspectives in life. Life skills are taught in workshops organized by the Stellenbosch Academy of Sports network, Global United FC, SanLucar and the VfB soccer school, among others.<\/p>\n

The renovated facilities and programs will not only benefit the 1045 students of the Saron Secondary School, but also the 1200 students of the Primary School and the surrounding community.<\/p>\n

SanLucar DREAMS projects in South Africa<\/h2>\n

SanLucar is committed to numerous social projects in South Africa as part of its DREAMS corporate responsibility program.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>

These include the caring of the farm employees’ children in the \u201cSpeelskool\u201d kindergarten, an after-school care center with academic support through the CAMI tutoring program, a permaculture program for the self-sufficiency of farm employees, the community shop for basic supplies and the \u201cCraft Ladies\u201d program, which gives women the opportunity to pursue their dreams by selling handicrafts.<\/p>\n
